Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Loremill — the website and the chat. Read them once; they’re short and we’ve avoided legalese where the law allows it.

Agreement

By creating an account or using Loremill, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the product.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Loremill. If you’re using it on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

What Loremill is

Loremill is an AI game companion. You pick a game from the catalog, ask a question in natural language, and we return a cited answer assembled from public sources (wikis, official guides, community references). The product is a tool for navigating information about games — it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher or developer.

Accounts

You sign in via email or Google through our authentication provider (Clerk). You’re responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us at antonio.aiello.loremill@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access. One person, one account.

Plans and billing

Free beta

Loremill is currently in free beta. Every account gets 50 questions per day, reset on a rolling 24-hour window. No card required, no paid tier, no trial that quietly converts. Daily limits may change as the product evolves; we’ll give reasonable notice before tightening them.

If we introduce paid plans

We may introduce a paid tier in the future. If we do, we’ll announce it by email to active users at least 30 days in advance, the current free allowance won’t shrink without separate notice, and pricing and terms will be presented before any charge. Nothing in these terms gives us the right to bill you without your explicit consent at that point.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Loremill to generate or distribute content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Scrape, mirror, or resell our outputs as a derivative product or competing service.
  • Reverse-engineer, probe, or stress-test our infrastructure beyond reasonable individual use.
  • Circumvent rate limits, share accounts, or use automation to evade the free-tier cap.
  • Submit prompts whose primary purpose is to extract personally identifying information about real people.
  • Use Loremill to violate the terms of service of any game publisher (e.g., for cheating in multiplayer titles — Loremill targets single-player worlds for this reason).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these rules, with notice when practical.

Your content

You retain ownership of the questions you submit. By submitting them you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process them in order to deliver the service — generate the answer, cache the response, and operate the product.

We may use aggregated, anonymized question patterns to improve answer quality and prioritise features. We do not train external models on your prompts and we don’t sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

AI output disclaimer

Loremill answers are generated from public sources and refined by a large language model. Even with citations, AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Treat answers as a fast pointer to the source — not as authoritative guidance. Verify anything load-bearing (boss strategies before a no-hit run, build decisions on a hardcore character) against the cited source.

Loremill is for personal, non-commercial use. Don’t rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions — that’s not what it’s for.

Third-party content and trademarks

Game titles, character names, lore, screenshots, and other in-game assets referenced by Loremill are the property of their respective publishers and developers. We use them under fair use / fair dealing for the purpose of commentary and reference. Citations point to the original sources (wikis, official guides, community resources); follow them for the canonical version.

If you’re a rights-holder and believe a specific use is outside what we’re entitled to, write to antonio.aiello.loremill@gmail.com and we’ll respond promptly.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but don’t guarantee it. Loremill depends on external providers — Anthropic, Perplexity, Clerk, Supabase, Upstash, Vercel — and we may be affected by their outages. We may also schedule maintenance, release breaking changes, or temporarily disable the service without notice when necessary.

Termination

You can delete your account any time from Settings. Deletion cascades to your profile, library, and usage log per our Privacy Policy.

We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms, if we’re required to by law, or if continued operation isn’t feasible.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that answers will be accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected on any particular timeline.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence — including the EU statutory guarantees that apply to digital services.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Loremill’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

These limits don’t apply to liability that cannot be excluded under the applicable law (e.g., gross negligence or wilful misconduct).

Changes to these terms

We’ll update these terms when the product or the law changes. Material changes will be announced by email to active users with at least 14 days’ notice. Non-material edits (typo fixes, clarifications) take effect when posted. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of the operator’s registered seat, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
